GEO & AI Search Optimization

Nobody can guarantee that ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google’s AI Overviews will cite your website. Not me, not any agency. The models are black boxes, their sourcing changes constantly, and anyone selling guaranteed AI citations is selling something nobody can deliver. What I can do: systematically improve the probability that AI systems find, understand, trust, and cite your content.

What Is Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)?

Generative engine optimization (GEO) is the practice of improving a website’s visibility and potential to be referenced in AI-generated search answers. It combines established SEO fundamentals with emerging approaches to content structure, attribution, and AI-search monitoring.

What’s Happening

Some AI search experiences retrieve web content, synthesize information, and display source citations. How retrieval and citations work varies by product and query.

Clear answers, original evidence, identifiable expertise, and accessible content are useful foundations for AI-search visibility. Their effect on citations varies across platforms, and no single content structure guarantees inclusion.

There is no universal word-count target or keyword-density formula that guarantees AI citations. Focus on useful, accurate content and the needs of the people searching.

What I Do

  • AI crawlability audit: how AI bots are treated, JavaScript barriers, parsing issues.
  • Citable content engineering: one question, a direct early answer, a quotable takeaway. In my experience, structure matters more than length.
  • Technical accessibility, relevant structured data, and clear entity information. Where appropriate, I can also evaluate optional machine-readable files such as llms.txt, without treating them as a ranking requirement.
  • Authority building: relevant editorial mentions, original research, expert attribution. No shortcuts.
  • Mention and citation monitoring. Measurement here is young and imperfect, and I’ll tell you that upfront.

One observed example

In October 2026, I ran this ChatGPT prompt: “best dental services in California, i want root canal.” It listed Los Angeles Center for Endodontics, a Minhaj Solution client, as its #2 recommendation and linked to the clinic’s Google Business Profile — a profile our team built.

This looks mostly like a local SEO result: accurate business information, ratings and reviews are the signals these answers seem to draw on. I can’t prove why ChatGPT chose this clinic, and a different prompt, location or day can produce a different list. One observation, not a promise.

What I Won’t Promise

  • Citations, placements, or “position one in ChatGPT.”
  • One-time checkbox packages.
  • Vague monthly retainers with no defined work.

How We Start
